Delete Your JOSH Account
Option 1: In the app (immediate)
- Open JOSH and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Confirm, then sign in again when asked (email and password, Google or Apple).
- Wait for every step to finish. You are signed out when your account is gone.
Option 2: By email (without the app)
Send an email to support@getjosh.app with the subject “Delete my JOSH account”, sent from the email address you registered with. If you signed in with Apple using “Hide My Email”, tell us your display name in JOSH instead.
We may reply to confirm the request comes from the account owner. We complete the deletion within 30 days and email you when it is done.
What gets deleted
- Your login (Firebase Authentication record);
- Your profile: display name, email, XP, level, badges and leaderboard entry;
- Your favourites, comments and votes;
- Your notification token.
What we keep, and for how long
- Job ads you posted: they stay visible to other job seekers, because they are photos of ads displayed in public places. Your name and account are removed from them. If you want a specific ad removed as well, list it in your email.
- Backups: copies may remain in encrypted Firebase backups for up to 30 days, then are purged automatically.
- Moderation records: reports and moderation decisions about content you posted may be kept where the law requires it (EU Digital Services Act), without your profile attached.
- Anonymous statistics: aggregate numbers (for example, total jobs posted) that cannot identify you.
